An Author Website in 10 Easy Steps

Step 9: Publish It

Okay. Your website is ready. It is time to share it with the world.

Some platforms, such as Weebly, have a “preview” mode that lets you work on the website without it being visible on the internet. Meaning, only you can see. So, when you are finished you need to publish the website so everyone can see it. There should be a publish button somewhere. Push it and your site is live.

WordPress automatically publishes changes when you save them. If you are worried about people seeing your website while it is under construction, you can place a message on the website saying you are still working on it. My personal favorite is a “pardon our dust” type message.

Did you push the button? Now take a deep breath. You did it.

One last step before you move on, just go to your website and make sure that everyone can see it.

Now go declare it to the world. You have an author website.
